| DIGA - At The Heart Of Your Home Entertainment
The Panasonic DIGA range offers a DVD recorder to suit everyones needs, and each model is equipped with features that are only possible with Panasonic technology. The name DIGA symbolizes Fast, High Quality and Easy and is the leading name in the DVD Recorder industry. DIGA encompasses the latest DIgital technology with giGAbytes of storage capacity, hence the name - DI-GA. Panasonic's policy is to fully utilize its in-house black-box recording technologies to create enjoyable video recording. High Picture Quality With The DIGA Engine Thanks to unique Panasonic technology, DIGA can record twice as many horizontal lines in LP mode as standard DVD recorders. The virtual Multi Encode System enables LP mode recording with the same 500 lines (D1) of horizontal resolution as that in the SP and XP modes. This effectively doubles the horizontal resolution compared to the 250 lines (1/2 D1) of conventional LP mode recording. Thanks to this, you can enjoy viewing extended recordings 4 Hours (single-sided DVD-RAM/R/RW) 8 hours (double-sided DVD-RAM) with exceptionally detailed images and twice the picture quality. Super Multi-Format Recording And Playback DIGA is the ultimate DVD Recorder, no matter what type of disc you choose, the DIGA can utilise it for recording or playback. Ultimate Versatility Of DVD-RAM A DVD-RAM disc offers multi-format data compatibility that lets you store TV programs, still pictures, MPEG movies, MP3 and even PC files. With DIGA, TV programmes can be edited and erased and you can even create your own favourite playlists from all the recordings on the disc. As well as deleting whole programs when you are finished with them, you can also delete parts of the recordings that you don?t want, such as commercial breaks or unwanted commentaries. This is the versatility of DVD-RAM. Simply, using DVD-RAM is like using a small hard-drive. And in addition to superb DVD-RAM recording, playback and editing, you're ready to enjoy recording of all other DVD formats (+/-R, +/-RW,) even dual layer discs that offer extended recording times are supported. This means improved compatibility with DVD players, camcorders and PCs, for a trouble free and secure recording environment. Naturally, playback of all DVD formats is also possible, so you don't have to worry about whether your DIGA can playback everything in your current video library. What's more, a DIGA lets you take advantage of handy DVD-RAM features, like timeslip, for even more entertainment possibilities. |

| Quick Start
1 Sec. Quick Start for Recording Thanks to high-speed quick start, both the hard disk drive and the DVD disc are ready to record just one second after switching on the power. Being able to record almost immediately means you'll never miss the scenes you want to catch. VCR Refresh Dubbing To DVD - Time Base Corrector + 3D Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) What about your old collection of VHS tapes? When connecting a VCR and DIGA to record VHS videotape images onto a DVD Disc, the Time Base Corrector helps reduce jitter and performs signal conversion to create a stable signal. At the same time, 3D DNR detects and virtually eliminates randomly generated noise and colour irregularities to help minimise flicker. Thanks to these two technologies, the tape input signal is automatically detected and optimum processing is performed to provide an easy way to convert your treasured tape recordings into even more beautiful digital recordings. Of course, Panasonic has two solutions for archiving VHS to DVD without the need for an external VHS VCR. The DMREZ45V and DMREX95V have built-in VHS decks for easy archiving on one machine. 4x Natural Gradation - 12bit Analogue-to-Digital Converter Using the 12bit Analogue to Digital Converter (ADC) provides an extremely dense 4,096 steps of gradation, compared to the 1,024 steps possible with a regular 10bit ADC. This means that Panasonic's 12 bit converter enables recording with four times the visual smoothness of a conventional 10-bit system. The result is faithful reproduction of the details in both the bright and dark parts of scenes, so that for the first time you can see everything there is to see. Easy To Use Photo Storage & Viewer With SD Slot. 7 Day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) And VideoPlus. Timeslip. |

| 1. Record and review A DVD-RAM disc allows you to record a programme whilst reviewing what you are recording. If you missed something in the action, you can rewind the disc and watch it again, while the recorder continues to record the real-time broadcast.
2. Pause TV By using DVD-RAM you can effectively pause Live TV. If you are interrupted while watching TV, press record. When you are ready to resume, press Play and it will resume from where you pressed record. 3. Chasing playback If you pause live TV, you may want to catch up with the action, or fast-forward through commercial breaks. With DVD-RAM you can do this by simply pressing fast forward. This function, chasing playback, will allow you to fast-forward through recorded material and catch up with the real-time broadcast ? all while continuing to seamlessly record the current program. 4. 1 minute jumping Using the jog-wheel on DIGA's remote control, you can review in 1 minute intervals, either forward or backward. This is especially useful when watching movies and sports. Missed that goal or simply want to watch it again? Simply jump 1 minute backwards and watch all the build-up as well as the goal. When you?ve finished, press fast-forward and use chasing playback to get back to the real-time action 5. Watch one, record another Using DVD-RAM means that you can record content onto the disc, whilst simultaneously playing back different chapters from the same disc. For example, you can record a TV broadcast onto the disc whilst reviewing JPEG photos from a digital camera that were recorded weeks before. Same disc, different content, different functions ? all at the same time. HDMI DIGA uses the universal High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connection for all-digital signal transfer to a VIERA flat-panel TV. The inclusion of HDMI allows conversion to 720P/1080P horizontal line resolution) as well as full 5.1 channel audio. |
||
| Up-scaling Of course, HDMI brings new possibilities for High Definition to DIGA, which is why we've included technology to up-scale standard-definition content from both analogue and digital sources, to near High Definition quality. These can then be sent, via HDMI, in pure digital form, to a suitable HD ready VIERA Plasma or LCD flat panel TV.
HDAVI Control New to this year's DIGA range is Panasonic's proprietary AV control technology, unleashing all the potential of an HDMI connection. HDAVI control is a system that allows DIGA to communicate with VIERA, or home theatre amplifier, through the HDMI cable. Want to watch a DVD? Don?t worry about turning on your TV, simply put a disc in your DIGA and press play, your VIERA will automatically turn on, select HDMI input and playback the movie without you raising a finger. If you have a Panasonic Home Theatre amplifier, VIERA will also automatically mute and your amp will take over as far as audio is concerned. Finished watching the movie? Simply turn off your VIERA, you?ll also watch all the other components blink off as well. Panasonic?s HDAVI control makes home entertainment seamless and easy. |
